Here is a list of hair styling products that have been accused of causing female hair loss from more than one person and might even have ended up with a class action law suit because of it.

Monat ~ Hair Loss Lawsuit Brands List
Monat hair styling products is a multi level marketing program company aka MLM that has been accused of hair loss thinning, balding and scalp sores, as these are listed in multiple lawsuits aimed at the company due to using their products.
People who even have been reporting that hair loss blogs and influencers have been sued by the Monat mlm company with defamation lawsuits as a way hush us all up.
Now they are the ones being sued! This is ongoing and still up the air. We will see what happens to these hair loss cases, hopefully sooner than later. Either way beware of this situation.
According to the FDA their products were "prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with filth."
I will also keep you posted here of any future reports.
Update!
As of August 2020 Florida's Attorney General Monat MUST now give out money refunds to customers who purchased their hair products.
Monat Global admits no wrong doing in hair loss findings as they pay the state $250,000 in investigative fees as written in the agreement.
The 2018 class action lawsuit against Monat Global for causing massive customer hair loss is still ongoing.

Deva Curl ~ Hair Loss Lawsuit Brands List
Deva curl products were once coveted by every curly haired girl who wanted the perfect instagram looking curls. Now you couldn't give the Deva curl products away for free.
This is due to clients and consumers complaining of the following scalp issues and irritations:
- hair loss
- scalp itchiness
- burning
- curl relaxation
- dandruff
These severe complaints are now the basis of a class action lawsuit.
Things were great for the company before, perhaps they changed their formula? We will have to wait and see this is currently ongoing. I will update you here.
Wen ~ Hair Loss Lawsuit Brands List
Wen shampoo was at one time promoted by celebrities believe it or not.
I even bought the stuff myself when they first came out, but I stopped using it because it made my hair flat and I did notice alot of shedding.
I am sorry to say that others may not have noticed the Wen products weren't working for them until it was too late. Now they are dealing with more severe issues of hair loss because of these products.
This proves that hair-styling-product-hair-loss can quite possibly happen to anyone.
Also please be aware that gel products can also cause hair loss due to the drying alcohol ingredients inside of the styling agents.
Wen was sued and was forced to pay out a $26.25 million dollar settlement due to hair loss from using his products.
Stay away from his products lovely ladies, I don't care how good his hair looks. I no longer trust his company!
Johnson and Johnson ~ Hair Loss Lawsuit Brands List
Johnson & Johnson is the parent company to the OGX line of hair shampoo products that you typically find in stores such as Walgreens, Walmart and CVS.
They were sued back in August of 2012 and were ordered to remove very toxic chemicals from their formulations such as DMDM hydantoin and other similar ingredients from its products by 2015.
Well guess what? That didn't happen! Johnson & Johnson failed to change the ingredient formulation of their products knowing it could harm customers!
"At least one ingredient in the products, DMDM hydantoin, is a formaldehyde donor known to slowly leave formaldehyde when coming into contact with water,” the lawsuit states."
Larissa Whipple started a class action lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson for this very reason as well as due to the fact that she says caused her much hair loss and scalp irritation.
Some of the products mentioned in the lawsuit include:
- OGX Biotin + Collagen Shampoo and Conditioner
- OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Conditioner
- OGX Anti-Breakage and Keratin Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
- OGX Detox + Pomegranate & Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner
- OGX Marula Oil Conditioner
- OGX Extra Strength Hydrate & Repair
- Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Conditioner.
I personally would stay away from the company as a whole based on their past practices!

TRESemmé ~ Hair Loss Lawsuit Brands List
Emily Castillo is the plaintiff in a class action lawsuit that claims TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Color Shampoo causes hair loss and scalp irritation despite the products claiming that they are safe, effective and formaldehyde-free.
It is thought that "DMDM hydantoin" which is used as a preservative, is the active ingredient used in the shampoo that caused hair loss for many!
The legal document states, “At least one ingredient in the product, DMDM hydantoin, is a formaldehyde donor known to slowly leach formaldehyde when coming into contact with water. Formaldehyde is a well-known human carcinogen that can cause cancer and other harmful reactions when absorbed into skin.”
If you are wondering why the company says they are formaldehyde-free, technically their products contain DMDM Hydantoin, a chemical that releases formaldehyde, which is a carcinogen. So it's basically a legality statement that is hiding the whole truth from the public because it's not formaldehyde yet - it creates it when water hits it!
They know it's bad for the health of the public and they are still using it in their hair products getting super rich off of the trusting puplic!

Suave ~ Hair Loss Lawsuit Brands List
Suave Professionals came out with their own line of Keratin Infusion products which also created a class action lawsuit for the same exact reasons and causes as TRESemmé and Johnson & Johnson which also caused hair loss and scalp irritation due to DMDM Hydantoin.
That complaint triggered a recall of the products in 2012 and 2016 with a settlement worth $10.25 million.
Please stay away from all of these companies!
